Last year, Bruce’s family revealed that he had received a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Initially diagnosed with aphasia, the actor subsequently retired from his Hollywood career.
His family released a statement addressing Bruce’s dedicated supporters, informing them that Bruce has been facing health challenges and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, affecting his cognitive functions. Consequently, after careful consideration, Bruce has decided to step back from his cherished career.
Later, they revealed that Bruce’s condition had advanced to frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a type of dementia characterized by difficulties in communication, emotional issues, and unusual behaviors.
It has been reported that Bruce’s condition has unfortunately deteriorated further. Glenn Gordon Caron, creator of Moonlighting and a close friend of Bruce, described him as an exceptional individual but noted that he is now experiencing a loss of speech abilities.
Glenn Gordon Caron shared with the New York Post, “Bruce’s illness is progressive, so I had the opportunity to communicate with him before it rendered him as unable to communicate as he is now.” He fondly recalled how Bruce loved waking up each day and embracing life to the fullest, reflecting sadly on the significant decline caused by Bruce’s disease.
